Tooth Extractions
It is our goal to save every tooth we can, however, there can be situations where teeth may require extractions. We perform extractions (simple and surgical) on teeth that are severely decayed, have advanced periodontal disease or fractured beyond repair. Other teeth may need to be removed due to impaction or in preparation for orthodontic treatment. We discuss replacement options catered to each individual since the loss of a single tooth/teeth can lead to problems with chewing and shifting of teeth in the future.
At Highland Family Dental, we understand that there are instances where tooth extractions are necessary to ensure the overall health and well-being of our patients. Our Tooth Extractions service is designed to provide gentle and expert care for the removal of problematic teeth, emphasizing comfort and a swift recovery. Our Tooth Extractions Service Offers:

Should I Have a Tooth Extracted?
If your tooth is broken or damaged from decay, we will make every effort to repair it using bonding, a crown, or a filling. However, a tooth might be too damaged and will need to be removed to prevent the infection from spreading — and to conserve the health of the rest of your teeth. You could also require a dental extraction to remove teeth that don't fit in your mouth. This would include your third molars, or wisdom teeth, that develop between the ages of 17 – 21. In older kids, infant teeth that haven't naturally fallen out might have to get pulled, so they do not block the permanent teeth from erupting. If you're getting braces or contemplating Invisalign® treatments, you may require an extraction to make space for the remaining teeth as they move into their proper position.
